San Juan, Puerto Rico
SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico – Park yourself next to this bronze statue of Tite Curet in the Plaza de Armas and enjoy the vibes of one of Puerto Rico’s most revered and influential composters. Curet (1926-2003) spent many days in his later years on a shady bench just like this one in Old San Juan enjoying conversations with people who talked about the pleasure they took from his many salsa and bolero songs. The Plaza de Armas is a short walk from Old San Juan’s most memorable building, El Morro, the colonial fortification that has guarded the city for centuries. (Photo by Tom Adkinson)
